Okay so...

I decided to type up a quick update on what is going on with our home.  Pretty much we are just waiting for the freaking permits to come in.  At first we were told we would be breaking ground on the 27th but that has not happened.  I got a call from our sales rep yesterday saying that the permits are still not in from the county but we are still scheduled for a mid to late September delivery.  I wanted to add on a spa shower but was told it was to late to add custom changes.  I was kind of bummed to hear this since I ask earlier in the process but was given a flat out NO as an answer.  It’s not a huge deal because that would be a luxury and not a necessity.  Overall we are still happy but all of the planning sure takes away from the fun.  Here is a quick rundown of some of the options and items we ended up selecting.

We have a Courtland elevation B with the darkest brick, red door, black shutters, and white siding.
Finished basement with unfinished media room.
Morning room and Gourmet Kitchen
We selected a Dark Brown hard wood in the foyer, powder room, kitchen, and morning room.
Upgraded stairs with runner
Carpet with highest upgrade on padding on each level
We have full bar in the basement
basement full bath
owners suite with sitting room
upgraded owners bathroom
added a few extra windows to the family room as well as the dining room but did not go with the bay window
St. Cecelia Granite counters and Cherry Bordeaux cabinets, cognac in all of the bathrooms and vinyl in the mud room.
We also added a few wall sconces in the dining area and various electrical outlets in different places in the house.
Added French doors at the basement walk out and off of the morning room, molding and wall trim and a dedicated outlet for the deep freezer in the garage.

I will be uploading pictures from the Courtland model very soon so stay tuned guys!

  1. Oh wow...it is going to be fantastic...great additions too. Question for you...when you say Gourmet Kitchen, do you mean the Gourmet Island or the Professional Kitchen?

  2. Sounds like it's going to be amazing!!! Can't wait to see it start and progress! (hahaha I can imagine you sitting there nodding, going "no kidding! I know the feeling". lol)

I hope they get those permits sooner rather than later.

  3. Sorry yes Gourmet Island with the double oven. Went with stainless steal and a black glass top cooktop gas stove. We did not opt for the washer/dryer though. One of the things I would like to have but dont is an actual laundry room and a walk in pantry. The mud room is off the garage and its really like a pass through area. It is not very big at all just dont get how clean laundry and "mud" room get along but O'well.
