The wait continues...

Here is a quick update but not really :o(  Yesterday I heard from our SM basically bringing me up to speed on the progress of our permit processing.  The county is still processing them and he expects that they won’t be complete for another 2 weeks.  Of course this means that we won’t be settling in September.  This process only started in April and we still can’t break ground.  Our new target date is late October but I think I will just tell myself it will be November and anything earlier will be a treat.  In the meantime I will continue living vicariously through you all LOL!

I know it gets better and could be worse so I will stop my whinning.

  5. =( I'm so sorry!! I can only try and imagine your frustration at this point. Don't you wish there was a disclaimer at the time of contract stating that this garbage was a big possibility?

Now are you moving to a rather new community or is it pretty established? I'm just wondering if it's new, if that may be some of the hold up.

Honestly, it sounds like the county needs hire another processor at this point. The one they have seems to be pretty far behind.

I'm so sorry. *hugs* It'll get here.

  6. @ Noey There was a previous builder there but they went belly up. RH came in and took over the property and had all of the permits in hand from the previous builder but had to get the name changed on them which apparantly you cant do anymore. So it is kind of new, maybe like 8 homes were built from the previous builder and the next 45 will all be RH.

@New Build I have been reading your blog and we are kindred spirits in this process LOL, it seems like the same stuff has been happing, our SM tells up no for so much including the spa bath. We just decided to wait to work through the PM. Our SM told us that all custom changes should have been decided in the first 2 weeks of this process but most of the stuff we asked for we learned about well after that and some choices were made because of others. Overall you build your dream home but walk into it still dreaming about what you shoulda/whoulda/coulda done.

  7. It sounds as if your schedule is now roughly a month ahead of ours. We are supposed to break ground in September at some point, with a date for closing in mid-November.

  8. I knew you had been delayed, but geez that really stinks...government at it's finest. Hang in there though and keep putting pressure on your sales rep to get your upgrades. Once you get started it will fly and before you know it you will be moving into your lovely new Courtland!!!
