No news isnt always good news

Hello all,

I just wanted give you all a quick update on what is going on with our home.  The last time I checked in we were waiting on our permits that we were told would take about a week to come back from the county since they had already been issued to a previous builder.  Well I believe we are going into the 3rd or 4th week now.  I sent an inquiry to our Sales Manager and he called me back to let me know that the County has a new process which doesnt allow them to grandfather people over on previously issued permits.  He advised that it would probably be another 2-4 weeks before they are issued.  Although I am finding that this process is turning into one waiting game after another I couldnt fight my face muscles from falling into a serious Dorothy Zbornak like blank state of existance.

This is likely to have an effect on our delivery date for sure.  I know there is a silver lining to this wait so I will wait patiently until God reveals it to me and when the time comes we will move to the next phase which is breaking ground.  In the meantime I will find out from our Loan Officer if she can give us an updated good faith estimate to give us a better idea of what we need to bring to closing since we added so many upgrades.  To end this post on a lighter note, I had a wonderful fourth of July and ate like a pig at a few cookouts.  I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday and ate as much as I did!

I'll be praying your permits come sooner than 4 weeks from now. Keep us posted!

  2. @ Noey If only that could happen I would be so much happier LOL! That picture was the closest illustration of the look I had on my face as the conversation started to bobsled downhill, I'm like Really? REEEALLY? But like you said there has to be a silver lining somewhere so I will wait. And next time dont start to read until you have swallowed your coffee please, lol, I don't want you destroying good computer equipment. Thanks for commenting and keeping me uplifted!

  3. Yes that sucks! Don't these permit people know this is the only other courtland blog on here! Shame on them! Seriously though I hope things progress sooner than later...they say "good things come to those who wait" so just maybe you'll get a freebie

  4. @ Chelly I sure hope your right about the freebie but I doubt it. My experience with Ryan so by way of my Sales Rep has been once they give you anything they keep reminding you of how lucky you are almost like "so dont ask for anything else" but I keep asking anyway. Seems like everyone has such a great relationship with their sales rep and mine is great but sometimes he makes me feel like I am asking for to much when I ask questions based on feedback I get from the blogs.

  5. I feel you carlito. Mine used to make me feel that way too. However, after the first month, she turned into a new person and was going above and beyond. Hopefully yours will get better. I still haven't gotten anything free yet though! lol
